Woodford Reserve – Rye (70cl)

Woodford Reserve Rye is a Kentucky straight rye whiskey from the Woodford Reserve Distillery, in a 70cl bottle. The mash bill has a high proportion of rye, which gives a firm, spicy character, and the whiskey is matured in new, heavily toasted American oak barrels. The nose brings black pepper, cinnamon and clove, with red apple, pear and a light touch of fresh mint. On the palate come caramel, honey and warm spices alongside the herbal note of rye. The finish is long and slightly dry, with a spicy return. It can be drunk neat or over ice, and is also used in Manhattan, Old Fashioned and Sazerac cocktails.
