Woodford Reserve Rye Whiskey (75cl, 45.2%)

Woodford Reserve Rye is a Kentucky straight rye whiskey made at the Woodford Reserve Distillery in Versailles and bottled at 45.2% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It joined the range in January 2015 as the third permanent expression. The mash is 53% rye, 33% corn and 14% malted barley, a ratio chosen as a nod to pre-Prohibition Kentucky ryes. The spirit is triple-distilled in copper pot stills and matured in new charred American oak. The nose combines rye spice and black pepper with cedar, cassia bark and marzipan, over pear, apple and almond. The palate offers clove and rye with mint, molasses, sorghum and honey, supported by apple and malt. The finish is long and sweetly spiced.
