Woodford Reserve – Straight Malt Whiskey

Woodford Reserve Straight Malt Whiskey is a Kentucky straight malt whiskey made from 51% malt and aged in new charred oak barrels. This is a lower malt content than a typical 100% malt whiskey, which gives a nuttier character that builds on the original Woodford Reserve. The nose combines soft nuts, light caramel and milk chocolate with apple, dried and tropical fruit, brown spice, mint and toasted oak. The palate shows dark chocolate and caramel-coated nuts, cocoa, brown spice and a little toasted coconut. The finish is nutty, with subtly sweet chocolate malt.
