Woodinville Toasted Applewood Finished Bourbon is a straight bourbon from the Woodinville Whiskey Company in Washington, bottled at 50% in a 75cl bottle. The base is five years old, from a mash bill of 72% corn, 22% rye and 6% malted barley, and it is finished with toasted Washington State applewood staves.
The flavour comes from the wood finish rather than any added flavouring.
Baked apple, vanilla bean, toasted oak, cinnamon, caramel and maple sugar mark the nose. The palate is rich, with caramelised apple, brown sugar, baking spice, honey and roasted nuts. The finish is long and warming, with applewood smoke, sweet oak, vanilla and cinnamon.
