Woody Creek Distillers – William H. Macy Reserve Bottled in Bond Batch 3 Straight Rye Whiskey 10 Year Old

Woody Creek Distillers William H. Macy Reserve is the third release in a Bottled in Bond straight rye series. It is a blend of five barrels distilled in 2016, aged for 10 years and bottled at the distillery in Colorado. The mashbill is 83% Elbon rye, 14% number 2 dent corn and 3% malted barley, all grown in Colorado and milled on site. The barrels were chosen in a blind tasting led by William H. Macy with the distillery's head of distillation, Stephen Julander, and others. Butterscotch, lavender, citrus and spice show on the nose. The palate brings rye, pecan, molasses, tea and toffee, and the finish is long, warm and spicy.
