Writers' Tears Double Oak is a blended Irish whiskey, triple-distilled and bottled at 46% ABV without chill-filtration. It combines the two premium styles of Irish whiskey and is aged in both American and French oak.
The expression came from a close collaboration between the Walsh family in County Carlow, Ireland, and the Legaret family in Cognac, France.
The nose brings sweet vanilla with cinnamon, plum and poached pear. On the palate there are pressed grapes and citrus zest, followed by a finish with chocolate undertones and lingering spice.
