Writers' Tears First Pot Still is an Irish pot still whiskey released at 46% in an outturn of 5,800 bottles. It was finished in three kinds of cask: American Bourbon barrels, Pedro Ximenez sherry casks from Spain and Florio Marsala hogsheads from Sicily.
The nose is candied and sweet, with toffee apples. On the palate come pot still spice and the velvety, dessert-like character of PX sherry, leading to a finish with a light chewiness.
