Writers' Tears Japanese Mizunara Cask Finish Irish Whiskey (55%)

Writers' Tears Copper Pot Japanese Cask Finish is an Irish whiskey that marries a single malt with a single pot still whiskey, bottled at a cask strength of 55%. It was first aged in American oak bourbon barrels, then finished for nine months in two Japanese Mizunara oak barrels, a wood known for sandalwood, coconut, spice and Japanese incense notes. On the nose there are flashes of green fruit with hints of vanilla and clove. The palate shows a distinctive pot still base with oriental notes of sandalwood, coconut spice and incense.
