Writers' Tears Marsala Cask Finish is an Irish whiskey that marries Single Pot Still and Single Malt. It is a limited edition, bottled at 45% ABV.
The whiskey was finished for a further 12 months in Marsala hogsheads from the Florio winery in Sicily, which adds a delicate warmth and depth to the blend of Irish styles.
The nose offers golden syrup, earthy notes and dried fruit. On the palate there is caramelised apple, nutty spices and wildflower honey, and the finish has a sea-kissed quality.
