Wyoming Whiskey – Outryder (50%)

Outryder is a straight American whiskey from Wyoming Whiskey, bottled in bond at 100 proof (50% ABV). It sits between a bourbon and a rye. It is made from two mash bills distilled in November 2011. One is 48% winter rye, 40% corn and 12% malted barley. The other is 68% corn, 20% winter rye and 12% malted barley. All the grain is non-GMO and was grown in Byron, Wyoming, by Rageth Farms. The colour runs from amber to light copper. The nose is brown baking spices with browned butter, and the palate is clove, allspice, dark rye bread and orange blossom honey. The finish is long and spicy, with buttery toffee.
