Yamato Black Samurai is the darkest expression in the Yamato Samurai line: a Japanese blend of malt and Yamanashi grain whisky, bottled at 40% ABV in a 750ml bottle. The casks were sourced by Aiko Importers at a large Yamanashi distillery.
The whisky is aged in Mizunara oak in the Kofu Basin and bottled non-chill filtered.
The nose combines dark fruit, toasted oak and an incense-like Mizunara spice. The palate is rich and rounded, with caramelised fruit, vanilla and warming oak spice. The finish is long, warming and softly spicy.
