Yamato Gold Samurai is a Japanese whisky bottled at 40% in a 75cl bottle by Aiko Importers. It is the gold-labelled edition of the Samurai line and is not chill-filtered.
The blend combines malt whisky with Yamanashi grain whisky, from casks sourced at a large distillery in Yamanashi Prefecture. It matures in Mizunara oak in the Kofu Basin.
The nose offers fruit, vanilla and a light Mizunara spice. The palate is silky and smooth, with orchard fruit, vanilla and gentle oak, and the finish is clean, soft and lingering.
