Samurai Edition is a blended Japanese whisky from Yamato, bottled at 40% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It was created by Aiko Importers from excess barrels of a large distillery in Yamanashi Prefecture.
The blend is made of whiskies aged between three and eight years, finished in Mizunara oak casks.
The nose is honeyed vanilla and delicate florals, with sandalwood, toasted almond and ripe stone fruit. On the palate come pear and apple, then toasted almonds, warm vanilla, spice and a little coconut. The finish is silky and of medium length, with sandalwood, a trace of coconut and a soft, spiced warmth.
