Yamazaki 12 Year Old is a Japanese single malt in a 750ml bottle, bottled at 43% ABV. It comes from Yamazaki, Japan's first malt whisky distillery, founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii on the outskirts of Kyoto.
The whisky is matured for a minimum of 12 years in a combination of American oak, Spanish oak and Japanese Mizunara oak.
The nose shows ripened fruit and sweet vanilla, with peach, candied orange and Mizunara oak. The palate has a buttery, deep sweetness, and the long finish carries sweet ginger and cinnamon.
