Yamazaki Golden Promise is a single malt Japanese whisky from the House of Suntory, released as a limited 2024 edition and bottled at 48% ABV. It is made from Golden Promise barley, a variety first grown for Scotch whisky in the 1960s, and matured in American oak barrels. The colour is described as Barley Gold.
The nose offers ripe orchard fruit, sweet malt, vanilla and honey. On the palate come orange marmalade, vanilla pudding, toffee and dried apricot, with light oak and spice. The finish carries sweet citrus and a touch of smoke.
