Yellow Rose – Outlaw Bourbon

Yellow Rose Outlaw Bourbon is a small-production bourbon made in Houston, Texas. It departs from the usual bourbon recipe by being made entirely from corn, and it is distilled by hand and aged in small American oak barrels. The whiskey matures in the Texas heat, which the distillery says speeds up ageing in the cask. The name comes from Emily West, the Yellow Rose of Texas. It is described as old-gold copper in colour, with an intense nose of caramel and vanilla and a floral touch. The palate is lightly sweet, and the finish is very long, with caramel and vanilla lingering.
