Yellow Spot 12 Year Old is an Irish single pot still whisky made by Mitchell & Son at the Midleton distillery. It is a blend of malted and unmalted barley distillates, triple distilled, matured for 12 years and bottled at 46% ABV.
The maturation draws on three kinds of cask: American bourbon barrels, Spanish sherry casks and Malaga wine casks.
Honey, ripe peach, red apple, vanilla and toasted oak lead the nose. The palate is rich and deep, with caramel, malt, coffee, milk chocolate, almond and dried fruit. The finish combines sweetness with spice.
