Yoichi Peaty and Salty / Distillery Exclusive (50cl, 55%)

This is a limited edition Yoichi that was bottled in 2015. The nose introduces a maritime journey, enveloped with peat, iodine, and sea salt, complemented by citrus, peach, and pear nuances. The palate offers a blend of prominent peat and salt, peppered with rich citrus, ham-stuffed prunes, and a unique meaty undertone. A sensation of grilling fruits on a previously meat-touched BBQ grill is evident. This is coupled with a warm, oily mouthfeel, underpinned by hints of vanilla and cream. The finish lingers, dominated by smoky citrus, caramel, and a touch of tannin. It’s not overwhelmingly complex, but its refreshing nature is undeniably delightful, making it a favorite among many.
