A red wine from Abruzzo made from Montepulciano grapes. It has a deep ruby colour with garnet reflections, and aromas of ripe plum and cherry with tobacco, leather and a light touch of vanilla from barrique ageing. On the palate it is robust yet balanced, with mature tannins and lively freshness, and a long finish with sweet spices and dark chocolate. It suits red meat dishes, roasts, stews, aged cheeses and richly flavoured food; decant for at least an hour and serve at 18°C.
