1792 Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey (75cl, 50%)

1792 Kentucky Straight Rye is the first rye whiskey released under the 1792 name, made at the Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown. It is bottled at 50% ABV (100 proof), in a 75cl bottle. The rye comes from three sources: Canada, Europe and the northern United States. Canadian rye is said to bring floral character, northern American rye peppery spice and European rye a bready, herbal depth. It is fermented with the brand's signature bourbon yeast, which adds a fruit-forward sweetness. The nose offers warm baking spices, spiced fruit jellies and floral rye. The palate is assertive, with rye spice, cinnamon candy, molasses and pepper. The finish is long, with mulling spices, sweet oak and black pepper.
