1792 Small Batch is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky, bottled at 93.7 proof (46.85%) in a 750ml bottle.
The mash bill is a high-rye recipe of 75% corn, 15% rye and 10% malted barley. The whisky is aged in new charred American white oak on the upper floors of Barton's wooden warehouses, for roughly eight years, with no age statement on the bottle. Master Distiller Danny Kahn selects the barrels and marries them in small batches.
The nose brings vanilla, caramel, oak, gingersnap, burnt orange and rye spice. The palate adds dark fruit, salted peanut brittle, clove, cinnamon and a touch of cocoa, and the finish is long and dry with cocoa and oak tannin.
