1792 Aged Twelve Years is a Kentucky straight bourbon from the Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky, bottled at 48.3% (96.6 proof) in a 750ml bottle. It was first released in July 2019 and appears as a single batch each summer.
It uses a high rye mash bill and spends twelve years in new charred American white oak.
The nose offers caramel, vanilla, toffee, golden honey and well integrated oak. On the palate it is full and slightly creamy, with vanilla, cocoa, gentle rye spice, butterscotch and a touch of dark cherry, ending in baking spice. The finish is long, with delicate fruit giving way to oaky smokiness, candied pecan and a dry oak close.
