2XO Oak Series French Oak Kentucky Straight Bourbon

2XO French Oak is a Kentucky straight bourbon and the second blend in the Oak Series. It is made from a mash bill with 18% rye. Its maker uses a double oak technique, placing chains of heavily charred French oak into the barrels toward the end of maturation. This adds the coffee and cinnamon notes, which sit against the spice from the rye. The nose shows vanilla, caramel, cherry and rose. The palate moves from caramel to roasted nuts, coffee and cinnamon, and the finish is a light peppery spice.
