A.H. Hirsch Reserve is a 15 year old Pennsylvania pot still rye whiskey, distilled in 1974 at the Michter's Pot Still Distillery in Schaefferstown and bottled in 1990. This bottle holds 70cl and has its gold wax seal intact.
Adolph Hirsch, a former Seagram's executive, commissioned the 1974 run and laid the whiskey down in barrels. It was distilled from a rye-heavy mash in copper pot stills. When the distillery closed in 1989, the remaining barrels were acquired and bottled as the Hirsch Reserve. Julian Van Winkle III played a part in its preservation and distribution.
