Aberfeldy – 18 Year Old Bolgheri Tuscan Cask Finish Single Malt Whisky (70cl)

This is an 18 year old Aberfeldy single malt, finished in Bolgheri Tuscan red wine casks and presented in a 70cl bottle. It belongs to a series in which Stephanie Macleod, Master Blender and Malt Master for Aberfeldy at Dewar's, explores how different red wine casks shape the whisky. The series began with a Pomerol finish from Bordeaux, and this 2022 edition is a later release. Macleod monitors the maturation closely so the red wine does not overwhelm the malt. The Tuscan casks add robust dark fruit flavours and an intense oak finish to the already fruity character of the whisky.
