A 14 year old Aberlour single malt from Speyside, finished in a bespoke sherry cask and bottled at 50.3% ABV in a 50cl bottle. It is one of 852 bottles.
The whisky was matured in first-fill American oak barrels, then finished in a first-fill cask seasoned with a blend of Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherries. The Oloroso brings nutty depth, while the Pedro Ximénez adds a jammy sweetness alongside warming spice.
The nose is sweet cranberries, sticky dates, dark caramel, chocolate orange, charred pineapple, star anise and a hint of violet. On the palate come morello cherries, homemade strawberry jam, raisin loaf and zesty orange, with allspice and ginger behind.
