This is Batch 4 of Aberlour A'bunadh Alba, a single malt matured in bourbon oak barrels. It is a light gold in colour.
The name draws on Quercus alba, the American white oak, and alba is also a word for Scotland. A'bunadh is pronounced a-boone-ack, and the name can be rendered as 'the Scottish original'.
The nose is sweet, with ripe red apples, pear, floral notes, honey, vanilla and a hint of cinnamon. The palate is sweet and peppery with a creamy, oily texture, and citrus zest, cinnamon and dried apple emerge as it opens. The finish is long and sweet.
