This is a heavily peated single cask single malt from the St. Kilian distillery in Bavaria, Germany, bottled by Adelphi in 2024. It was distilled in 2017 and matured for six years in a first-fill Madeira cask, giving an outturn of 351 bottles.
It is bottled at a cask strength of 58%, non-chill-filtered and with no added colouring.
The nose offers ripe pears, smoked peaches, dates, raisins and mixed toasted nuts. On the palate come herring, scallop shells, seaweed, birch forest, funky apple cider and white balsamic vinegar. The finish is long and deeply spiced.
