Adelphi The Winter Queen Batch 2 19 Year Old

Winter Queen Batch 2 is a 19 year old blend of Dutch and Scotch whisky from Adelphi, the second time the bottler has combined the two. It is named after Elizabeth Stuart, born in 1596, the eldest daughter of King James VI of Scotland, who was briefly Queen of Bohemia and spent most of her life in exile in The Hague. The blend draws on a refill ex-sherry butt of Mortlach, a refill ex-sherry butt of Bowmore, an ex-sherry butt from a Highland distillery, two refill ex-bourbon hogsheads of Teaninich and a first fill ex-PX sherry hogshead from Zuidam in the Netherlands. The Zuidam whisky is 19 years old, and the Scotch whiskies are all 30 years or older.
