Bushmills The Original is a triple distilled Irish blend of grain whiskey and Irish single malt, bottled at 40% in a 750ml bottle.
The grain whiskey is matured for a minimum of five years in American oak casks before it is blended with the malt. The recipe dates back to before Prohibition.
The nose is aromatic and sweet, with a Riesling-like quality, cut herbs and blossom. On the palate there is salty butter, blossom, sweet vanilla cream and citrus, followed by a malty finish with cardamom and ginger on the tail.
