Aglianico del Vulture Superiore DOCG 2013 Don Anselmo

A red wine from Paternoster, made from Aglianico in the volcanic area of Basilicata. Volcanic, mineral-rich soils give it solid structure and a distinctive character. Long ageing, partly in wooden barrels and partly in bottle, develops deep notes of ripe red fruits, delicate spices and a light tobacco hint, with soft but present tannins. On the palate it is full and balanced, with aromatic persistence. It suits robust red meats, roasts and aged cheeses.
