Alchermes 2 Litre Polini Group (2L)

Alchermes is a vividly red Italian liqueur with a historic recipe that goes back to the Renaissance. This is the Polini Group version, in a 2 litre bottle. It is made with pure alcohol, sugar, cinnamon, cloves and other aromatics, giving a sweet, spiced flavour. The red colour traditionally came from cochineal, though natural alternatives are now often used. It is widely used in the kitchen, in desserts such as trifle, to flavour and colour custard, to macerate fruit or in dessert sauces. It also adds a distinctive touch to cocktails.
