Amador Double Barrel is a wheated bourbon, bottled at 43% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It spends three years in new charred American oak, which brings flavours of brown sugar, nuts and baking spices.
The bourbon is then finished for 9 to 12 months in former medium toast French oak Chardonnay barrels. This second stage adds vanilla notes and a creamy mouthfeel, and the character of the two kinds of barrel is blended together in the finished whiskey.
