Amahagan World Malt Edition No. 3 Mizunara Wood Finish (70cl)

Amahagan World Malt Edition No. 3 is a Japanese blended malt finished in mizunara, the Japanese oak. It was made at the Nagahama distillery and comes in a 70cl bottle. The mizunara finish adds a fragrant wood character to a sweet malt base, and the whisky has a pale amber colour. It was named Best Japanese Blended Malt at the 2020 World Whiskies Awards. On the nose, sweet malt mixes with oranges and red apples, moving towards fragrant wood and sweet caramel. The palate brings baked orange and brown sugar, and the finish is rich, like bitter chocolate melting slowly.
