Angel's Envy Cask Strength Rye 2023 is the brand's first cask-strength rye whiskey. It marries two rye batches: one spent three years in Sauternes dessert wine barrels, while the other was moved into new toasted oak barrels after its initial maturation.
The two were combined because the spicy toasted oak and the sweet wine characters balanced each other.
On the palate it is creamy, with pears, cream and rye spice. The finish brings cream soda, black tea and a floral sweetness.
