Ardbeg Hypernova is an Islay single malt, twice distilled in copper stills and matured for several years in oak, mostly ex-bourbon casks. The casks add honeyed sweetness.
It is peated, and the flavour is built around peat smoke, citrus zest, ginger and vanilla, with the sweetness from the bourbon wood keeping it in balance. The finish is long.
