This is a 25 year old single malt from Ardbeg on Islay, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle and non-chill-filtered. It keeps the bold smokiness of the distillery's younger releases, with the extra years smoothing and deepening the flavours.
The nose combines smoked cream and earthy bonfires with pine and fragrant candle wax. Hot pepper rises on the palate, wrapped around lemon sherbet sweetness, with hints of carbolic soap and tar. The long finish is marked by delicate aniseed, lingering cream and fudge.
