Ardnahoe The Inaugural Release is the first single malt from the Ardnahoe distillery on Islay. It is a 5 year old, made with Islay peat and distilled through two worm tubs.
The whisky matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks. It is bottled without chill-filtration and without added colouring.
The nose offers shortbread, baked apples and peat smoke, with maritime notes and a light sweetness. The palate is full and smoky, with sweet pear and apple fruit alongside spice. The finish is long and smoky, with a touch of salt and a pleasant warmth.
