Ardnoch is a 5 year old blended malt, distilled in 2016 and bottled in 2019 at 52.7% in a 70cl bottle. It joins Ardnamurchan and Dornoch Distillery whisky, blended and bottled by Thompson Bros, and is limited to 450 bottles.
It combines first-fill bourbon hogshead casks from Ardnamurchan with ex-Islay quarter casks from Dornoch.
The nose brings green banana, smoky beeswax, tart plums, nettles, yellow pepper, lemon, fresh mint and coriander, with a hint of Gewurztraminer. The palate offers honeydew melon, salted flapjack, rich tea biscuit, orange peel, macadamia and mint sweets. The finish is medium in length, slightly bitter and lingering.
