A 16 year old Arran single malt, distilled in 1999 and bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society as cask 121.90 at 52.8% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It comes from a single bourbon cask, which yielded 258 bottles, and carries the name Spiced Pear Planter's Punch.
The nose is of peach, Asian pear, apricot jam and marmalade, with spiced sultanas and gooseberries. On the palate come apricot skin, cedar and sandalwood, cinnamon, nutmeg and woody vanilla. The finish is long, with bitter wood. Water brings out the fruit and makes the spices more intense.
