This is a single malt from Arran, distilled on 31 December 1998 and bottled in 2013 at 14 years old by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society. It was matured in a refill ex-bourbon barrel, cask number 121.69, and bottled at 55.8% in a 70cl bottle. The outturn was 198 bottles, released under the name 'Bitter-sweet roller-coaster'.
The nose is marzipan, iced sponge cake and sherbet, sharpened by bitter lemon, blackcurrant, apple and apricot, with hops, soft leather and sun-bleached wood. The palate is citric and mouth-watering, with grapefruit, sour plums, fruit pastilles, elderflower and honeysuckle. The finish is long and lightly drying, with grapefruit pith, damson and bramble.
