Arran – 2011 Private Cask Peated (52.1%)

This is a single-barrel Arran distilled in 2011 and peated to 50 PPM. It was drawn from a Bourbon barrel and bottled in 2017 for the Whisky Fair Limburg, at 52.1% ABV, in an edition of 285 bottles. It is natural colour and non-chill-filtered. The peat smoke is paired with the bright, fruity style of Arran. The nose combines citrus peel, vanilla and warm wood with a veil of campfire smoke. The palate brings roasted malt, baked apples, creamy vanilla and a dry, clean peat smoke. The finish is long and softly smoky, with a mineral touch and subtle sweetness.
