Arran – 2013 Private Cask (Sherry Hogshead) (60.1%)

This is a single malt from Arran, distilled in 2013 and matured for seven years in an ex-sherry hogshead on the Isle of Arran. It is a Private Cask bottling at 60.1%, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour, from an outturn of 326 bottles. The whisky is a deep mahogany red. The nose is described as raisins, dark chocolate, treacle, espresso and warm cherries. On the palate come dark sherry, plum jam, cinnamon, nuts and warm woody notes, and the finish is long, warming and silky, with Arran sweetness.
