Refill sherry hogshead
This is a 28 year old Arran single malt, distilled in 1997 and bottled for Woodrow's of Edinburgh in its Warehouse Reserve range. It was matured in a single refill sherry hogshead that gave 172 bottles, each in 70cl at 56.9%. The sherry cask brings some rancio character, and the whisky tastes slightly older than its years. The nose is light and sweet, with honey, butterscotch, peach, apricot and pear. The palate is creamy and mouth-coating: iced sponge cake, glacier cherries, wholemeal biscuits and white chocolate, with guava, strawberry, a hint of lemon and tobacco. The finish is longer, with ginger spice, coconut and lingering vanilla.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
