Arran – Amarone Cask Finish

This Arran single malt is matured first in oak casks, then finished in Amarone casks. The Italian red wine gives it a warm copper colour. It is bottled non-chill-filtered and without added colour, and the distillery draws its water from Loch na Davie. The nose combines ripe pear and sweet honey with almonds, a little coffee, cranberry and nougat. On the palate, cherries, plums and apricots meet the bitter-sweetness of dark chocolate, with cinnamon adding warmth. The finish is soft and fruity, with a touch of oak.
