Arran – Amarone Cask Finish Single Malt (50%)

This is a single malt from Arran, finished in Amarone casks and bottled at 50%. It is non-chill-filtered and has no colouring added. Arran is the only distillery on its island, in the village of Lochranza, and it began distilling in 1995. Its whisky is matured in sherry and bourbon casks, and here the Amarone finish adds a more complex layer while the citrus note typical of Arran remains. The nose is spiced vanilla with citrus, dried fruit and nuts. On the palate come cinnamon, baked apple, raisins and plums, with a deep character.
