Arran – Barley 10 Year Old Batch 001

A ten-year-old single malt from Arran, made entirely from barley grown on the Bellevue Farm on the Isle of Arran. Batch 001 opens a series of Arran Barley bottlings that returns each year. The whisky matured in a selection of first-fill bourbon barrels and second-fill sherry hogsheads. The nose offers fresh herbs, light citrus, moderate sweetness, vanilla and a hint of aniseed. On the palate it is gently spicy, with ginger and sponge cake, plenty of oak, more vanilla and citrus, and an oily texture. The finish is medium and dry, with citrus, ginger and a little aniseed.
