Arran – Barley 10 Year Old Batch 2 (50%)

This is the second batch of Arran Barley, a ten year old single malt made from barley grown on the Isle of Arran at Bellevue Farm. It is bottled at 50% ABV, non-chill filtered and with no added colour. Batch 2 uses Concerto barley, where the first batch used Optic. The whole batch was matured in first-fill bourbon barrels. The nose is fresh herbs and bright citrus, with soft vanilla and a hint of aniseed, then lemon peel and candied orange as it opens. The palate is full and lively, with ginger warmth, sweet oak, ripe apple and a grainy note. The finish is medium and dry, with aniseed and spiced citrus.
