Arran Barrel Bonfire – Signature Series 2

Arran Barrel Bonfire is a peated single malt from the Isle of Arran, measured at 42 ppm. It is the second release in a four-part Signature Series, the first of which appeared in autumn 2023. The whisky matured from 2012 for five and a half years in ex-bourbon casks. From September 2018 it spent a further five and a half years in ex-bourbon quarter casks of 115 litres, which came from the Koval distillery in Chicago. The nose offers caramelised hazelnuts, zesty orange and vanilla with rich, dry smoke. The palate is oily and complex, with fine spice and cinnamon alongside fresh citrus. The finish carries spice, citrus, smoke, peat, vanilla and cinnamon, with a touch of toasted oak.
