Arran – Drumadoon Point 23 Year Old Explorers Series Vol. IV (49.5%)

This is the fourth release in the Arran Explorers Series, which celebrates the scenery of the Isle of Arran. This edition takes its name from Drumadoon Point. The single malt is 23 years old, matured in ex-sherry casks and bottled at 49.5%. The edition is limited to 9,000 bottles. The nose is rich and complex, with caramelised almonds, chocolate-covered ginger, dried apricots, caramelised sugar and the smell of dunnage warehouses. The palate is bright and enveloping, with honeycomb and salted caramel, then herbal touches and fresh fruit. The finish brings Assam tea and a little cigar smoke.
